Try this Gary
Note when they say aim for the touchdown marks, they mean this end

OOUUCCHH! Thanks for that Garry. Even I'd opt for the go-around in that situation, and I'm an impatient bugger that knows that hitting the fence in FSX isn't going to hurt at all.
Amazing that people can be that close to aeroplanes on short finals... Wouldn't want to take a double deck bus up that road would you.

They did some alterations to the road but I don't know it that's a before or after

Remember me saying that the default St Barts was nowt like that shot on the Islander H/U but if you used your imagination, you could see where they were coming from?? Well.. I take it all back. The default FSX St Barts is not only nowt like the FlyTampa version.. I don't have enough imagination to get it close

Odd because Bill and the boys seem to have made an effort at St Maartens
Skilful pilots like you and I Garry have nothing to fear from the default version. To run off the runway into the sea is impossible.. unless you want to travel the last mile over land.. at which point we'd have run into a pile of houses first

When I was there I tried to get some photos from under the flightpath on the beach and I was chased off by the airport fire engine!
They don't piss about since that bloke was killed.

Back on topic..
I've wanted one of these (a good one) for a long time.. particularly for our VA's small feeder routes so, I parted with the dosh and have bought it

I can't give you a detailed report at the moment as I've only had a quick thrash around in it but what I've seen so far, I like very much. As the wheels touched the sand runway at Barra (well.. you've GOT to fly it there haven't you!) the inside of the cockpit started to shake and vibrate in what I'd guess would be a pretty realistic manner!
I'm finding the instruments about as small as I'd like to make them readable (any smaller and they'd be difficult to read.. TrackIR users may not experience this though).. the flight model is delightfully compliant as you'd expect on a small aircraft with a large wing area.. the textures I've seen thus far (BA) are nicely done.. the soundset is good and for those who like modern navigation aids, some variants are fitted with a nice posh avionics fit (give me dials any day) EDIT.. this consists of a KLN90 GPS.. not quite steam but almost!

VC seems to take longer than the norm to redraw but otherwise, the VC is fine.
Put simply.. it is everything the now very tired Marcel Khunt freeware version wasn't. To be brutally honest, the freeware model was a dog. The install routine was arduous, the FD was abysmal, the soundset poor and the texture mapping left more than a little to be desired. However, that's all there was.. until now. On the strength of what I've seen, the new FSX model by whoever it is who've made it (edit.. it IS the ex Alpha model) will keep many happy.. probably me too which says something
One word of warning for those who dive in.. don't be alarmed when you've paid your money over at Flight1 and you get a message box saying 'Thank you for purchasing the P51D Mustang'

I did and thought WTF!

Fortunately, I hadn't just bought the Mustang but that is what happened

Dave - I agree with everything you've said! Thanks for the P51 purchase warning!!

The flight model feels great and on the ground it shakes rattles as they do. I love it! Loganair used to operate a Trislander between Edinburgh and Inverness and I always tried to sit in the co pilot seat up front when I could, and I remember the instrument panel used to shake itself sensless on takeoff and the noise was something else! I would love to see one of those for FSX by the same Alphasim? crew that did this one! Any of you talented people up for an original Loganair repaint? The one with the thick red/black stripes please?????
