Re: Revenge of the Go-Kart! (7 shots)
I've mentioned before that one of my favourite biking areas is under the flight path from Boscombe Down and I frequently experience the ETPS 1-11 doing full power climbs overhead and I can vouch for the fact that 'hush kit' doesn't really do what it says on the sidejonesey2k wrote:Least it doesn't have hush-kits...
But last week I was crossing a remote field and heard a quiet jet overhead so stopped and looked up, as you do, and there she was just whispering away in a gentle climb with little more noise than an Airbussy thing. I don't know what they're teaching these Imperial test pilots nowadays
I might have to make representations in case they set a precedent for quiet flight operations.
Nice shots, Dave.

And that's exactly the right attitude to take Ian. Seeing a 1-11 fly over and hearing NO or LITTLE noise is likely to cause distress to the local inhabitants who might think it's about to fall from the sky!
I took one of our Viscounts Los Rodeos-La Palma-Los Rodeos yesterday and was chuffed to bits to find a BUA 1-11 parked up at XO when I landed. I know I should get out more but until I do, simple things like this keep me going

Cheers Nige
I seem to remember the Viking route goes one stop further than Lagos.. to some nondescript, long forgotten airfield that may not exist anymore (though it IS there in FS so should exist!). Our Halton routes go down there too but don't use the final Viking route. Again.. somewhat slower than in the pocket-rocket

I remember when I was a small child, my dad used to take me to Liverpool AP to see the planes. I can remember this "big white scary plane with Shannon written in big letters on it" used to make a right racket and terrify me when it took off.speedbird591 wrote:I've mentioned before that one of my favourite biking areas is under the flight path from Boscombe Down and I frequently experience the ETPS 1-11 doing full power climbs overhead and I can vouch for the fact that 'hush kit' doesn't really do what it says on the sidejonesey2k wrote:Least it doesn't have hush-kits...I can hear it quite distinctly from home 15 miles away.
