Do you have popups blocked ?
Regards
Rick
I only have the standard Firefox pop-up blocker, which seems to be selective.
This was an actual web page stating that I had no permissions to access whatever it sent me to after payment.
Anyway, I got the usual e-mail later, so now have the aircraft and some nice repaints installed. Looking at the manual, this is going to keep me busy for a while.
Few interior shots taken just now for the ambient lighting. I love the red light, makes me feel like a U-boat Captain. I should have been flying Lufthansa not AA
Interesting that the OHP looks black in that light on this model where as it's grey on the original CS707 FS9 model.. black being retrograde rather than an advancement of Panels went from black to grey all over the world.. except for Russia where they remained vile
Thanks for those screenies Darren. That is quite wonderful. I'm not going to buy it yet, though, because I know my laptop won't run it well enough and I'm too mean to upgrade at the moment. I'll be happy enough with the C130 and 727 to go alongside my 757 for the time being. But I think I would say that that 707 would be my ultimate desire for FS and I could see me designing a system to fly that alone!
Whilst external models are obviously a big part of the satisfaction of flying in FS, for me it has to be a photo-realistic cockpit as that's where I'm going to spend most of the time. Sadly, I have to have some belief that I'm controlling a real aircraft
The 707 looks very close to reality (as do DM's 111 and Trident of course).
I'm not that into FSX (as if you didn't know) so wouldn't attempt to run this monster given the 752 stops it in it's tracks. I've always liked the FS9 'Legendary' 707s even though I rarely fly them. I love the panels (my E8400 can even run the model with a VC!) and the external model is just a joy.. an example seen here delivering illicit Big Macs to Guernsey for the black market..
I actually took off and landed again at GUE having first drained most of the tank contents though it did take me about 10mins to work out the tank arrangement on the FE's panel as all the engines cut (fuel starvation) on my initial T/O roll The model actually runs well on the E8400 but I'd not dare try the hi-res 4x textures FSX version.. not even at the crimbo discount. I looked at the panels again but from the CS site and the OHP isn't black (I'm glad to say).. it just has black blanks which is the norm. If it fits.. use it Go back to FS9 mate and you can enjoy the Legendary version in all it's glory

Ah, those siren voices again
I've got the legendary 707 tucked away in the bottom of a drawer with the rest of the FS9 stuff and I agree with everything you say. In fact it was the star of my most successful video in glorious, juddery fraporama http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76OADiD9IhM
I know you're right about FS9 being more practical on any system that isn't cutting edge. When I found the reason for my laptop's degraded performance I decided to just load one FS for simplicity and I can't remember why I chose FSX I think it was so that when I do lash out on a new system I'll be ahead of the game and won't have to learn it all from scratch. I think
Yes.. I remember that film.. nice to see it again Flown like a 'Pro' too I dunno.. I guess it makes sense to load the new sim and work your way into it. I've not seen FSX flagged on 'You have unused icons on your desktop' for ages but I put that down to BrianF's Nimrod rather than me slowly getting sucked into it Having dug the FS9 707 out yesterday (or whenever it was).. I'd fly it again and more often were it not for the non-standard (but authentic) AP. Most of our VA flights are longhaul for it and FSNav can't handle the AP unattended plus I don't have time to sit at the pc for hours on end so I end up taking it out once a year, admiring it then forgetting about it again. Surprisingly, the CS C130 which was always considered a hog flies/runs ok in FSX.. as well as it does in FS9 but the 752 scares me off buying anything else. It's a tubeliner for gods sake.. what can be so complicated
Just in case it happens to you as well, all these sales have triggered Barclaycard to check whether attempts at fraud on my account have been going on! An automated message asking me to check the last half dozen transactions and confirm them.
Probably not helped by the CaptainSim payment going through a Cyprus account I know that an attempt to buy from Iris (Australia) was blocked the other night so they missed out.
Obviously I am pleased that someone is checking, but first thought when you listen to the recorded message is PANIC

Ian, way back when you first posted that Kai Tak vid, I provided the link at my online squadron forum for the benefit of those who can't see the point of a civilian flight simulator,. The 'wows' and 'blimeys' would have warmed the cockles of your heart. In fact, that video of yours is the reason why I bought Fly Tampa's Kai Tak myself.
