I know threads tend to drift a bit from the subject line here  but I thought the discussion was about a WW2 British twin-engined fighter.
Still I do like 'defal's joke about adding a post -war jet panel to it :agree:
Cheers
Dave M(oly)
- you mean it isn't a joke ? :-O

We once had a thread that went 34 posts before going off topic :-O

I was really worried.....I thought something was seriously up :worried:

Done that in FS2004 once with an aircraft with a poor VC. Didn't take long to do.

Just don't ask me how to do it now though. ;)

Yep, I do know how to do that, but where are the instruments?

What's wrong with this as a stopgap measure? Can't find anything better. Can anyone please?

No offence Dave but ALL craft should have a working panel IMHO.

JIMM - reality. Ozzie MkX over Finschhaven.

Cheers all,

Hi Al

No Freeware 'should' have anything more than the author intends ;)

Nothing will be a stopgap as no 2D panel is being made for this so there is no gap to stop

Dave B, it's no joke. Can you point me to a better instrument panel please. I would appreciate it.

G'day Garry,

Doesn't mean that I can't suggest to the author that I think he could have presented a better package, or that I can't suggest a panel (even if it's not the correct one).
Fly it and try it Garry. Using it did not stop any of Dave's functionality that I could see.

I won't ignore your play-on-words: Without a standard panel, there is a gap to fill IMHO.

After all, just how many aircraft packages are presented without a panel or a suggested third party one by the author. Hmmmm.

Al,

With all due respect, the problem is NOT with Dave's model or panel. It would appear you have a corrupted download or some other problem. This is what you should be seeing.

I hope that you will agree that this is no 'stop gap' and therefore understand the reaction that has occurred. I am happy to work with you to resolve this should you wish.

Rgds,

Colin

Thanks Colin. You get the picture now, that's good. That is exactly what I DON'T see. I have told Dave that I see NO instruments, but so far he (or anyone else) has shown any willingness to help me. Just ridicule my stopgap measure to at least have instruments that work.

BTW I downloaded the Beau file through here.

This is what I have:

Beaufsx.zip (55,827 kb)
Model and textures by: Dave Garwood
Beaufighter Sounds by Lawdog.

Date: 16-05-08
Website: http://daveg.cbfsim.org/
e-mail: [email protected]

http://www.rustic-engines.com/media/pics/beau.jpg

When I select any of the Beau's all I see on the screen is the view down the runway.
The "w" key cycles through the normal views of Spot, Tower, Tail, but no panel.
From the drop-down View menu if I select Instrument Panel and Main, all I see is the view down the runway (no panel).
If I click New View, Cockpit, Cockpit, it gives me the same runway view (no panel).

In the Panel folder there is the panel.cfg file and the Beau.cab file.

Any ideas?

Al
