Re: It caught up with me
Yes mate.. I only needed the reading part of glasses to read the tickets when they came into the kitchen so it was a case of what do I do?? I could've gone for 'half' reading glasses but they'd have got in the way for everything else.. gone for fullsize with reading at the bottom and clear at the top or Varifocals. I was keen on the centre bit of varifocals covering the transition so gave em a try. The most expensive option of the 3 but I only got cheapo frames (£80) to keep the overall price down. I don't do 'designer' anything so no way I was gonna pay a packet to look like Gok Wan with a beard
Took a bit of getting used to.. about a week before I felt comfortable but using the pc took a bit longer. After a week, I didn't 'imagine' plates were falling off the prep surfaces
My near vision had become blurred to just beyond an arms length so a little more than basic 'readers' was required and varifocals are the best way (for me) to see

I plan on breakfast lunch and dinner with loads of the black stuff in between at your establishment if I ever make it over the pond.

Yes.. I knew that mate
I didn't go for photochromatic lenses.. not because I couldn't afford 'em but because I don't like sunglasses. I don't even like a tinted visor on my crash helmet. My addled brain works much better if what is coming in is as it is
Best of luck with yours when you get em. It WILL be odd for a while but you'll work through it

I'm sure I've asked before, but just where is your place Dave? The 'crossing the pond' bit is easier from this side and I do actually find myself in the UK sometimes. I would've stopped by last year if I would've had the time.

I'm about 50mins from LHR down the M4 (J12). Come off at J12 and head for Newbury A4 until you hit the A4 roundabout (5mins from the M'way.. no longer). Then head for Pangbourne and Streatley is almost immediately signposted.. 10miles I think.. on the Pangbourne road. As you come into Pangbourne, you continue straight on and I'm about 3miles further down the road on a junction. You can't miss it

Found it, on the corner of the A329 and B4009 if I'm not mistaken (I'm guessing it's the place that still needs to put a menu up on the website). I've now saved that on my phone so that I don't need to ask again
A shame that you weren't at Brooklands when I was there last year, next time perhaps.

On the junction of the A329 and B4009 is exactly right
That's the second time I've heard 'menu' mentioned in the last 6 months or so
Point is, the menu isn't set in stone and we don't have access to the page (it was done by our local business network). Were everything ours and I knew anything at all about producing/maintaining a webpage.. things might be different but at the moment, I'm just glad we have something online!
