Derek, thanks for posting those marvellous pictures!
Dave - what a beautiful and charming place you have there. On my last visit to the UK, I came within 10 miles of your place on the way to Oxford. Wish I had known, because I certainly would have stoped for a pint or two.

Ah yes.. the old A329.. Oxford road (which changes at intervals to become the Reading Road). In any case.. it's the old Oxford-Reading Road Yup.. it looks nice from the outside but in reality, it's like a well. One could throw as much money as one had at it and it still wouldn't be enough to sort it out (or fill the well.. we DO have one too though it's not been used in donkies) Regardless, it's a smashing part of the world.. far enough away from civilisation but close enough should it be required
Oh.. while I'm here.. the shot of me bending with the strimmer is a bit deceptive too.. looks like I'm a right fat b*****d Anyone who knows me knows that I'm about as far through as a butchers pencil

Quite right, Mr B can't be seen side on unless he's wearing his biking leathers
A few more pics:
Goring Lock, a few minutes walk down the hill from The Bull:
Along the river bank:
I don't know about you but I really do like a nice bit of vernacular architecture
The garden and impressive Yew tree at Dave's gaff.....MrB lurks behind the window top right

Great pics Derek! Dave sure lives in a beautiful area. It's neat to see him in his natural habitat. I can almost hear the voice of Richard Attenborough when reading your captions..."DaveB appears with a power tool." ..."Mr B returns the power tool to the shed AND looks away from the camera.."

I could almost hear that too Brian BTW.. the house to the rear (furthest away) of the barge belongs to none other than Mr George Michael

Re: Sam does Streatley
Are we talking about George Michaels pad or the pub? If it's the pub.. the back door is pretty much the main entrance due to it being closest to the car park. We do have a front door too If it's George Michaels house.. you can decide for yourself!

Re: Sam does Streatley
Strangely.. that doesn't surprise me As it happens, having such a celeb in the area (one of a few I might add) there have been benefits to the community. For example.. the lights in the public loo in Goring often didn't work. They do now!
