Peter, the one that was different was the 'green T12' (can't remember its tail number XF321?) at Farnborough which crashed on take off in the early 80's I think - that had a 'big' Avon inside & I think therefore that the rear fuselage was a lot different, but probably only internally.

Well I flew the FGA9s mainly and they were certainly different from others internally...They had 2 REAR fuel tanks of 26 Gallons capacity each wrapped round the jet pipe. They were each complete with a "Rear tanks explosion protection system". I don't think any of the other marks had Rear Tanks, but not certain about "Foreign Marks" of Hunter. No Two Seaters that I flew had these Rear Tanks. Another change in the FGA9 was the addition of a Tail Parachute housing. We used the tail parachutes for all landings at Nairobi Airport.
