Dont forget also that with the instructor missing the aircraft responds differently - its lighter - & judging the distance to start the descent can also change the approach. Tigers certainly reacted differently without the 170+ lbs as well as the C of G difference! I wasn't allowed to go for my 1st Solo as the wind was too gusty & although I beat the instructor to the throttle when we hit a gust at 20' he would not let me go solo that day because the aircraft response would be different.
The driver of the car should have had a better view of the aircraft in the approach as he is on the LHS & it should have been visible - unless he was looking elswhere - like down the runway!!!

That's probably where most would be looking!

As for the stop sign, where was it? No sign of it on google streetview - and their pictures are generally very recent.

It's not a sign as such by the looks of things.. it's painted on the road in what Ben called B&Q Value White emulsion (or something like it)

There are additional signs not shown in the video or report at normal eye level warning of low flying aircraft and to yield for aircraft. The "STOP" sign also has a yellow hold short bar painted across the road just beyond it, and while it's not something the general public would understand, it's still a deliberate marking that should draw their attention that there is something they need to look at.

BTW, I still haven't found out why this couple was out there in the first place. That road only accesses hangars on the other side of the runway. Unless they had some business there, they had no purpose for going down that road other than being lost, which makes their error even worse as if you're lost, you should definitely be looking at any and all signs for information.
