Zoomed in on RAF Northolt and Edwards Avenue, where I lived, just to the North of it.
Looks like about 4 just South of the Airfield, and quite a few in the farm fields a bit to the South East.
My parents told us that the crack in the upstairs ceiling was from a nearby bomb. Either they were romancing, or one of those b****s was a biggie! Or perhaps it fell before or after the Blitz.
I like the look of WWII aeroplanes, but by golly, do I hate war! What was it all about, yep, as usual, money.

A rather poor summary of the causes of WW2, the main German aim was to gain 'living space' in the East, i.e. territory to allow for the expansion of the German people. It's unlikely you could have tamed Hitler's lust for an expanded German Empire with gold, we tried taming it by giving him more land and that didn't work.

G'day Skippy
1930s depression.
Stimulate the nation.
Generate pride with uniforms and youth movement.
Build military stuff to further promote national pride.
Use the stuff.
I think its roots were money related.

If you read Mein Kampf, which unless it loses something in the translation is particularly turgid, Hitler's aim was to restore the German pride lost at the end of WW1 and place the Germanic people at their rightful place as leaders of the world*. This pre-dated the depression being published in 1925, having been written in prison after failing to seize power in Munich in 1923.
Now you could say any conflict comes down to money as it's about the acquisition of territory and resources or remodelling of the political situation which can then be used to improve the financial position of the victor. However that would be a massive oversimplification in most cases and miss the finer detail that triggers a conflict, after all if money was the trigger we'd be invading France right now.
*His words not mine, obviously the Cornish peoples are the rightful holders of such a title.

Hi Skippy,
Yes, I over-simplified.
At least we agreed on the national pride bit.
I surrender to your greater knowledge.
Peace, man, and have a lovely Christmas with your loved ones.
Give Cornwall a hug for me - spent many happy holidays there.

Sorry, Mike, but I think appeasement is unlikely to work in the face of a strong personality with an irrational belief that he's part of a master race
Skippy will see your weakness as permission to lead an army of Cornishmen into neighbouring Devon with severe consequences for civilisation. You should have had faith in your first principle and offered him money!

Devon?! I wouldn't invade Devon. Remove it from the face of the Earth maybe but invade? Never.
