I'm no expert - I haven't changed bank accounts since 1963!

Just for interest, this is how Which? got their figures.
Our research
Customer scores based on a survey of 13,345 Which? connect online community members carried out in June 2012 and November 2012.

Overall customer scores are worked out using a combination of overall satisfaction and how likely members are to recommend their bank to a friend. Companies need at least 30 responses to be given a rating.

I've been with Lloyds since 1951 and have no complaints. I don't use the overdraft facility and I have no bank charges. I keep records in my PC using MoneyManager and have never found an error in my bank statements. I don't save money there but have ISA funds in various banks and Foreign & Colonial and a "Rainy Day" account at Sainsbury's Bank :) I would imagine that these days it would be hard to have any sort of overdraft without paying bank charges...If you did, then they would be banking with you!

Cheers Ian. Very much appreciated, really useful. I've heard great things about First Direct too, so I might check out their online banking to see if I can get a demo of it.

I found the coop / smile really good when I was with them other than the balance / available balance issue.
