You're right I know Simon. I'm pretty certain that those long, sharp talons had already inflicted life-ending injuries on the poor victim without the beak coming into play! This isn't the first time we've had Sparrowhawks down a 'kill' on the garden but it's the first time I've seen it happen (my dad had seen it happen a couple of times over the years). I'll try and ignore it should it happen again
