Thanks folks, I've just checked again, and the red sale prices are back. They'd vanished this morning, but all's well now. Just updating Plan G at the moment, and then I'll go shopping. :)

As Lister would say it all went to Smeg and prices returned to normal for a couple hours, sorry about that chaps.

Cheers, matey !

Well, so much for the P-47. That will have to wait for another day. Instead, I bought the Spitfire and its AccuSim module. What with the arrival of Princess Charlotte, the departure of The Idiot Boy Miliband, and watching Jane Horrocks almost in tears as she read that last letter at the VE Day concert, I came over all patriotic, lip-trembly and damp eyed and stuff. :agree:

Plus, I already have the Air Ministry pilot's notes for Spitfires IIA and IIB. ;)

Well.. can't say my first couple of attempts in the Strat have gone well. This thing obviously needs a level of attention outside my sphere of willing participation. Looks like £18.53 down the pan :(

I bought it!

No.. seriously, the main problem I had I've fixed.. Automixture was on. Now.. can anyone tell my why this resets itself?? I KNOW it was off because I turned it off when I started running Manfred's C97 and yet there it was.. ticked again  The MIX function on the C97 doesn't work with Automixture on which is why I switched it off. Piece of sh1t :|

Why is there always one engine running hot? 2 flights ago it was engine 2.. this last flight it was engine 3.. and WTF are you supposed to do about it?? What's the FE doing in the back.. scratching his butt?? :dunno:

It'd be nice if there were click-spots to cover all engines. As an example.. you have to run with the cowl flaps open when ground running. Opening each one with a mouse to a given percentage is a pain in the arse. Surely.. the FE would grab all 4 levers not fanny about opening one at a time?? I see the need for individual control but it would be equally handy to have a 'one shot moves all' function too.

I'm sure this would be a barrel of laughs with half a dozen throttle quads to cover all the levers and two of you to operate them. It may also be easier using TIR but I don't want to use that all the time.

The windows seem to mist up very quickly requiring windshield heat even when the OAT is still in double figures. What's that all about :dunno:

Having switched automix off AGAIN.. will it be ON next time I open the sim?

Is it going to rain tomorrow?

There are LOT's of questions I need answers to!

Hope you have fun in your Spit anyway

You're not going to like this...at least, your credit card isn't anyway. Before Sunday be out, consider buying Captain of the Ship - it has a fully functional flight engineer. I've never tried flying the Strat without CotS.

Big help, aren't I

Y E S.. or should that be N O O O O O O O

I've just had a look at CotS while you've been typing the above and noticed that some of the things I was expecting are included in that.. one being the FE!! What's the 'progression' thing all about? Do you have to follow some sort of promotional setup or can you, as Captain, turn that off?

Sorry, had to head to bed very early - as you can see I'm typing this at 4 a.m. Yes, the career progression thing can be turned off. I've never bothered with it.
