Well gee, Dave, you could sound a little more enthused about it.

I've just about got over the worry now.

Joe.. that is testament enough from me. It is the ONLY freeware helicopter I have.. even though I never fly it  The long-leg version flies ok (similar to the default 206). The short-leg version.. I guess because of the changed angle of the rotor to the ground caused by the lower legs (it squats nose up on the deck) transforms it from ok to one that will lift off and fly backwards unless fwd pressure is put on the stick. This doesn't make it a great deal of fun to fly. The float version flies in a similar fashion to the long-leg version. I keep it because it has G plate paints :cpu: It's good on FR's. If I remember right.. Eurostar 350 at SoH made it :)

It's the rotor flop I like most over all. It's definitely easier to fly then say the DoDo sim version on setting 5 , but I think the ERS 206 is a bit better flyer than FSX default 206.

At least with the FD I got. :dunno:

Do you have that 407 from Milviz? I'd love to have that, perhaps it'll go on sale. :cpu:

There aren't many FSX helicopters I don't have Joe. I'm a closet rotor head

Yup.. I do have the Milviz 407. It's a lovely helicopter to fly but if you're looking for something that pitches up or down at the drop of a hat or requires constant pedal (or twistgrip) to keep it straight.. it may not be for you. This thing has a host of devices that will keep it neat and tidy and they work very well. :) MV had certified helicopter pilots on the team so I'd guess it flies as it should. Push it and it'll bite but it's as you'd expect.. a high-end aircraft with high-end systems that doesn't need Chuck Jaeger at the controls :cpu: It IS heavy on FR's though.. at least as heavy as their F15 which is a yardstick used by many including me. Any heavier and I'd be uncomfortable with it. Why is it this frame heavy?? I honestly don't know. You'd expect something like their Wokka to be heavier but it's not.. not by a long way.

Hi Dave,

This FR issue is news I should know about. My current laptop wouldn't run it then. Pity.. it's such a nice looking rig.

What do you know about their MD 500? I don't have a good one of those.

on second thought.. maybe you shouldn't say,, this Is a thread about add-on'oholics and Paul might fall off the wagon!

 ..

I think I'm going to fall off the wagon anyway. The pictures in the opening posts are of P3Dv3's Washington state, and very nice it is too. Not so this part of the world in autumn, however - I took off from Cambridge yesterday, and was welcomed by a vista of unbroken khaki. I was half expecting Ayres Rock somewhere near Thetford. Orbx has released new installers for FTX Global and EU Landclass, and I've got to do something about the East Anglian outback. :(

Joe..
Their MD530 certainly runs better than the 407 though it too is a touch heavy when you compare it to the likes of the Nemeth MD500/MH6. I have the expansion pack for it too which adds things like stretchers and hoists. Oddly.. I get a BEX error on closing the sim every time I've used the 530. I don't even have to fly it.. simply load it.. look then choose something else and I'll get the BEX error. Dunno if this is just me.. never bothered pursuing it *-)

Anything else you fancy while I'm here

Paul,
You spent some time in Australia, IIRC.
You must wash your mouth with Scotch and water.....Ayers Rock is now known as Uluru. ;)
