Is that transport company in the background Paul? I've finally reached level 5 in the RN cruiser list. The RN cruisers are a hard sell - early versions are too lightly armoured and armed to make easy progress.

BTW don't forget to add cammo - you can auto resupply for not too many virtual beer tokens.

The Liberty ship in the background is there when you select 'Ocean' as your port, Chris. I've just gone up to the Weymouth ( B ), and you're right about British cruisers being a bit weak both in arms and armour. That said, I've knocked out a few other players with it. I just have to keep zig-zagging to avoid their fire and get in what shots I can. I'd like to stick with British and Japanese if I can, though the Americans got some pretty potent cruisers.

I changed my port to St. Petersburg - it looks like HMS Weymouth is on a courtesy visit.

Hi Paul, didn't realise it was possible to select a port. I'm currently in the Emerald and whilst she survived the War (II) my version has sadly bit the dust once again.

Chris, I've looked up the Emerald, both in the WoWs tech tree and the real ship on various websites. It seems she has the advantage of high speed and a lot of torpedo tubes. I like the look of her.

The range of RN ships is a little limited at present, so I'm also going up the USN tech tree which has a greater variety of ships. This is my latest acquisition - USS St Louis of 1906, shown against a vintage New York. All very ho-hum if you're a WoWs player, but it might interest non-players here. The detail on these older ships is terrific.



Gawd, this blasted game is addictive !!

I just bought my first premium ship, the Diana. She was only £6.74, and is such a beautifully detailed model. In case anyone's interested, she was a sister of the Aurora, which is now preserved in St. Petersburg.



Still having a lot of fun with World of Warships, though progressing up the USN cruiser tree is laborious, particularly when slogging away with the Omaha class.

The models are superb aren't they. I'm also labouring away with Omaha at the moment but do have the Leander and the Class VI German ship (can't remember the name at the mo). One of the problems of the game is that often there are way too many battle wagons in each battle. Makes surviving just that bit harder - still fun though.

Chris - agreed on the number of battleships. You do occasionally get games with only cruisers and destroyers, and I wish they were more common. Regarding the Omaha class, the word is to not purchase the Omaha C because it has a main turret removed in favour of increased AA. Although you have to research the C in order to progress, Omaha B is the one to stick with in the game until you can get the Cleveland class - so they say.

I've just bought the Mikasa and Emden, by the way. My add-on addiction has followed me from flight simming, but they are very reasonably priced and too interesting to resist.
