Blow you, Joe!
I expected "4th of July", but you've been consistently annoyingly American by saying "July 4th".
I was put in mind of this by our Australian broadcasters tending to adopt "June 26" in favour of the correct "26th June."
....and may I add that in "Country Music" classes in primary school, we were NOT taught that naughty chorus! Our renditions ended with macaroni.

Great scene from "The Great Escape" Brian! One of my favourite films. Thanks for the reminder.
I hate to be pedantic, but in typical Hollywood style. the entire film has been tarted up a bit. Probably to make it more palatable for a Colonial audience. You see the Americans were moved to another camp before the actual escape took place! This is per Alan Burgess in his book "The Longest Tunnel" The true story of World War II's great escape. No Steve McQueen motor biking his way to the border.

Leave it to Hollywood to screw up a perfectly good, and historically accurate, story.

From what I have read about the film Steve McQueen did not go down well with the rest of the crew. Very I am the big star apparently.

Re "counter meals" is that a meal that isn't really a meal, a revolutionary meal or a meal you wouldn't give to your dog?
