Hello Mate..
Thanks for that. The first link has no aircraft in stock, the second link is for a 27mhz P51 (PKZ1800.. the 2.4gig is PKZ2200) so the third link is pretty much academic unless I by the txer for the Champ
I'm at a pretty low ebb at the moment so that post picked me up
I'm gonna have to break the rot at some point and buy a transmitter.. then go chasing BNF models. The alternative is to buy another RTF kit then upgrade the txer at some point. Best option is to win the lottery and buy whatever TF I want

Ohhhh and that PZ P51 on ebay can be converted easily with a 2.4GHz if you buy a DX5e with a little AR500 reciever.......
And the first link was to show you that lipo's can be found cheap :-)

Hello Mate..
Well.. that really HAS picked me up

I'll be happy to liberate the baby P51. I've seen these go and while they're indoor really, it'll still go in 'Champ' conditions. 4ch too!
The little Cub is much of a muchness with my Champ mate.. but smaller, lighter and less keen to tolerate a gnat breaking wind I'd wager!
That big P51 is the same as the one I cancelled this morning. If it's going to go for around the current price, it would be a steal and worth spending the money (IDC) for the 2.4gig conversion. Can't see the price staying that low though

I have the P51 engine in my Champ. Because of it's fine, streamlined shape.. it doesn't go any faster but will avoid contact with the ground much better. In anything above around 5mph.. it either goes up and stops (into wind) or is uncontrollable downwind. Whatever I do with it, it's not fast

Glad you got sorted Dave.
Cheers for the heads up too Tony re-27Mhz. I never knew that about them, good advice.
Probably why they are so cheap Dave.
Keep us posted on the progress matey!

Hello Mate..
Yes.. I had a sniff that 27mhz was 'old hat' with everything these days being 2.4gig. I've put a bid in on a 27mhz P51 on ebay but I feel sure I'll be outbid. He's asking a lot of money for it (£100 buy now) plus £12 postage and this puts it too close to a brand spanking new one. He says it's only been flown twice and I appreciate he'd like to get his money back but being flown twice isn't new AND.. it needs a new nose cone! I'm not sure what he means by nose cone so I've asked. It can be one of 2 things.. the spinner or the cowl. Neither of these are expensive but would have to be sourced. Wheelspin charge a fiver postage and packing so a cowl at £5.22 becomes £10.22 and a spinner at £3.09 becomes £8.09. At the cheapest, this makes it £120.09.. £2.90 short of a brand new one from Wonderland Models.
I wouldn't buy it from Wheelspin new mind you. They don't have the DSM model RTF, only the 27mhz version.. £159.99 or £143.99 if bought online plus postage. They sell the BNF 2.4gig version for exactly the same price

You don't want to know mate
I have more irons in the fire than I can remember

I've a micro P51D coming from Techy when he gets round to posting it.. I have an offer in on the 27mhz P51D off ebay and more recently, I have the offer of a Super Cub and Wildcat. The Super Cub has a non-standard receiver and has been modded to 4channel (ailerons) and the Wildcat is in need of an engine cowl and receiver.
I'm eyeing up a Spektrum DX6i with AR6210 rxer from Al's Hobbies.. the receiver could go into either the Cub or Wildcat or alternatively, I could get an AR500 for the Wildcat and put the AR6210 into the Cub. The Wildcat comes with an AR500 as standard.. what's fitted to the Super Cub is unknown.. Hobbyzone's own.
Much depends on how the P51D goes as I can't really afford everything. I had the bike road tax last month plus insurance on the 406.. this month, it's the insurance on the Triumph and next month, insurance on the Skoda followed by road tax for the 406 end of Aug. Too much going out and nothing coming in

If the P51D goes sour, I'll go for the DX6i+AR6210 and get either the Wildcat or Super Cub going. If the P51D comes off.. I'll almost certainly go for the Super Cub and Wildcat but they'll have to remain hangared until such time I can throw money at a txer and receivers.
For the moment.. I'm restricted to the Champ.. now with missing spinner
