I'm so very sad to read this.If those of us who never met him feel like this one can only imagine how his family and close friends must feel.
Ian had been hoping to take another trip with Andy up to Scotland again in the very near future and we were hoping to meet up either in Edinburgh or Glasgow, sadly now not to be.Rest in eternal peace Ian,your presence on earth brought so much pleasure to so many people

I'm very upset by this news. Like the rest of you I miss the banter, almost sport like from Ian. Always reflective, never saying anything unless it was considered. Full of great anecdotes, and great photos from the English countryside. Always handy with the "Which" results when making those important purchases. And the "Smillies". It was a real pleasure to have "met" him here and he will be sorely missed. Aren't we all so very lucky. Thanks Ian, and have a safe flight.

Truly is very sad news. Nothing more I can add to what's already been said.

Sad indeed, but I am glad he had the time to do some of the practical things for his family that will make his death that small amount easier to cope with. I am glad also that his suffering was short in duration, even by the standards of mesothelioma . His bravery , and his philosophical acceptance of his position, was remarkable . RIP
