Garry..

I know you've visited the CI's before so it's rack your brain time :lol: Can you remember off the top of your head if GA aircraft have been parked up next to the new terminal building?? I'd have thought this was reserved for slightly larger stuff but looking at Garry Summons update (and Henry Tom's HTAI Cessna's).. it seems to be a bit of a free for all in FS9.

That tool is based on the original AFCAD thus FS2002, but all the bugs within AFCAD has been carried over to his one, and new one has been introduced. The developers haven't done a solid job, and you are more likely to ruin your airports than enhance them! This programme doesn't take all the "invisible" factors in consideration when adding, removing etc.etc. and thus ruins approach data, as well as parking data etc. etc.

Please. please don't waste your money on this product!

IF you want to try to fiddle with your airport files do use one of these two freeware products, developed by VERY skilled individuals, and the support of a bunch of people that has been in the "game" from the very start.

Hi Dan,

Thats the one... I could send you an example of my BGL's which I'm working from to see if its something unique to my system. I've sent the filees off to the guy that developes it too so he can have a look.

I have no intention of buying it and I hope no one interpreted my post as any kind of endorsement - I was only pointing out that there was an update available. I will say that I have used the original freeware AFCAD to do some tweaking to airports without any ill effects whatsoever. Maybe I am just lucky, huh?

Do you know of any alternatives for FS9 as the two links are for FSX software. I am a little short of funds to buy that Cray for FSX! :lol:

AFCAD is the product to use for FS9, despite it's small "features" as long as you keep away from removing/adding new ILS' and/or approaches you should be alright.

For adding/removing parking spots it is just fine.

But if you want to do some serious rework of an airport, you should look into other tools to complement such as BGLAnalyse or the like. The whole parking/TWY/RWY net is deeply entwined in an afcad.

Fu.. up something, and you might end up with ruin the airport, and you'll be better off returning to the default again.

One to be very aware of is that there isn't a possibility to close one end of a RWY for landing and keeping the other end open... although it looks that way, FS won't accept it. Close or open both ends. Unfortunately it is so. Both there is some serious testing going on in order to maybe, and I say maybe find a workaround.....
