Just a small tip if doing this (at any location) - taxiways and aprons and scenery that sit on them will be at the revised altitude but the runways themselves will not. Not even if you also change the runway altitude and the start locations altitude (which you should do anyway). It seems that in FS9 all of the items are self-flattening except runways (ie do not need a flatten file) but there is a way to bodge this. If you create a rectangle of apron under the entire runway, whether in grass, concrete or whatever, it should do the trick.

Changing an airports altitude will also create sunken or floating AI traffic, but that is not difficult to fix but I'll stop waffling for now. :-#

Hi,

The only solution I have for you Dave,
is to create an airport polygon which is not
based on VTP polygon.
This can be easy made in afcad. :dancer:
But on the downside it will look very :'(

Create an appron polygon with the same measures:
you have to open FS9 and LHR.
look straight down ( strg s ) and 360°
open afcad and enable ( lock to flightsim )
Then go in FS to the first point ( where the polygon has to begin )
change to afcad and place a marker at this point.
Go back to FS and unpause it.
Next point in FS, than back to afcad and marking again.
If you have all points, go to afcad and create your appron polygon
point to point.
If the appron is closed, you have to select a better material than bitumen
There are several grass textures, but they are looking all a bit "boring"

Best Regards

Wolfgang

Tom,

I've noticed this little tinker sitting waiting at LHR61 9R after landing. The scenery had been active for well over 20mins. In the meantime, a BOAC 707, BEA Vanguard and 2 BEA Viscounts had taken off and a 'leased' BOAC Brit had landed

Wolfgang..
Thanks for your assistance with the elevation and texure issues. All textures now present and correct and no holes found or water seeping through ;-)

Hi Dave,

I don't have any heli's in the package, so that has to be coming from somewhere else... :)

I can see that it haven't crossed the hold-back line, and that is where the Ground normally takes over Tower. So that might be the problem.

Yes indeedie.. the 206B is my tour bus ;-)

Correct there Dan. I've not installed the editvoicepak addition as a) I don't use it and b) the instructions are that it's not necessary. Not seen any other aircraft sit and wait there though it's true to say that the majority of aircraft aren't stopped at that point. As I said.. it was stopped and waiting there while 4 aircraft took off and another landed. Didn't have enough time to wait any longer.

I've seen the same aircraft parked up at LHR61 but that will depend on what time/day I cruise round admiring all the parked aircraft. Will see if I can duplicate it. Otherwise.. I'm a bit stuck. The only other thing I can think of is that there may be an issue with the afcad at that point. Not looked at this time ;-)
