Yo fellow Vanguardies :)

Yup.. I get sound from the start too though if you already have engines running, the sound isn't that audible (specially if you're half deaf like me) until start fuel is turned to OFF. In the grand scale of things, the Tyne sounds aren't too loud when compared to something like the Lancastrian (which I've just had to turn down!) but they're probably more accurate than most. I took another vid of our last run at Brooklands and the FD, while not quiet, isn't as noisey as it was the time before when we had the DV's open

I know this sounds obvious Robbie but try starting from cold on all 4 and turn the sound up a bit on your pc. Just remember to turn it down before you fly something else  If you still hear nowt until high ground idle, I'd recommend you pull Frasers latest set.. available at the pond and all other major sites ;-)

Tks for the info on the EGT's too  In fact.. while you're here, you might be able to answer another VC9 question for us.. this time regarding the Cabin Pressure Control. The FM gives instruction to set the Altitude Control Switch to departure QNH and doesn't mention any other adjustment until descent when it's changed to the arrival QNH. Is it just left to it's own devices to maintain the correct differential throughout?? This is a simplified question and doesn't take into consideration the other switches that have to be made but the operation of those is explained so take it as read ;-)

Hi Dave

I get the high speed whine right from the start even with the engines on the low RPM.

I wonder if i have all the right bits as the RPM's are not on zero to start and they are the only engine dials that seem to move as I expect

Hi Guys,

It's so long ago I can't remember who got what :doho: but I don't think the latest version, which Dave appears to have, ever went public as it is tailored to the new panel and its starting procedure as well as the drop in pitch when under ground beta control.

I'll try to package everything up in the next few days for trials anyway ;-)

cheers

Hi Fraser

I remember now about a slightly different version used by some so I guess that's it.

Thanks... I look forward to the new panel :)

Hi All.

I downloaded the VC9 from the pond about a month ago when I got my new machine.

I get the full wind up of the engines from a cold start followed by the change in pitch when the start fuel is switched to flight.

Just thought i'd add my ten pennorth into the pot.

Cheers

Ah.. so does this mean there could be yet another soundset??

I jest.. honestly I do  I'm fairly certain that the set I have came from a second source (eg.. a main site, not from Fraser) but my fairly certains have been held in question before  In fact, only yesterday I delected an older set which I presume was Frasers original dating from about 400BC. Having just checked both my Vanguard and Merchantman folders, there are no .old sound folders remaining but interestingly, the soundsets are different.. slightly. The set I have in the Vanguard folder are dated.. Modified 13 Sep 06, created 10 Mar 07 and the set I have in the Merchantman folder are dated.. Modified 09 Nov 04, created 10 Mar 07 :o

That throws my 'fairly certain' straight out of the window

Are we talking sound or panel?

I think I lost the plot.perhaps last week sometime :dunno:

Why is it you can never find a mad, senile old git smiley when you want one :-(

Ah matters not as I'll pick up what ever the latest is when it comes up
