I know this is a stupid question to those in the know, but i'm not. 
Did the FRADU Hawks (Or hunters for that matter) ever do a carrier landing? :think:

The hawks deffinatly never....
well not in the real world, im guessing they might in FSX lol
they dont have the gear or the arrestor hook.....

Aye Neil, but i wondered if it had ever been trialed. I know the hunters had the hook, but suspect this was for simulated deck landings :think:

no the hunters had the hook to use the RHAG system on airfeilds...
many a fast jet has them like tornado, typhoon, f16, f15, jaguar, toom, bucc...although they were origionally carrier borne!!
they are a safety system in case of things like hydraulic failure or brake failure etc....then they wont have to run the lengh of the runway out of control.
the hawk uses the barrier...(net system) at the end of most fast jet unit runways, so if a hawk has a problem it uses this....
there is a carrier bourne hawk, the T45....operated by the us navy. but apart from basic shape, its a pretty much differant a/c...etc.

they have an emergency barrier at the end of the runway (think it's retractable too)
looks a bit like a Badminton net with large vertical straps to arrest any wayward SeaVixens etc.
Never seen it do it's job but have seen plenty of pics of Sea Vixens with burning wheelbrakes hanging in the barrier.
which is a lot better than having no barrier.
River Yeo is about 100 ft from the end of the runways and have seen a Harrier in there before being recovered
Think Boscombe has one too and a few others possibly.
