Flying Jack was it's official name and was symbolic of Britain and flying......speed never came into it , just a part of the Jack looking like an aeroplane

...and, as per previous notes, it's wearing titles in Sans Serif as befitting BEA FJ ;-) What a great livery FJ was

Very much so Dave
A shame it faded so quick but when new the livery was very good indeed
Even with the all green tail it did not look too heavy at all and even though clearly a Trident livery it adapted to all the types well :tab:

Seconded with bells on.
Red Square and Flying Jack (
) remain classic examples of the heyday of British corporate identity design. BA Negus scheme wasn't as clean but still holds up well. Landor a mess and horribly dated, IMHO.

Re: A Trident for the office!
I quite liked the negus BA lvery but the Landor was drab....much liked now but only because people seem to think it was white
The dull pearl grey used to lighten a lot on pics but in reality it was very depressing.
Even the blue on Landor was midnight rather the the warmer BOAC blue on negus.in fact a lot of paints get done the same for both with only the titles and tail changing which is very wrong :@
A bit of trivia...........G-AVFG was the only Trident to wear all the liveries worn during the Tridents use by BEA/BA.......including time in use as a ground trainer after the flying was finished.

Strangely Garry, I seem to have a flight deck picture of G-AVFG:-Garry Russell wrote:A bit of trivia...........G-AVFG was the only Trident to wear all the liveries worn during the Tridents use by BEA/BA.......including time in use as a ground trainer after the flying was finished.
