See Joe, occasionally I can add something to a thread...

Back to the serious side - yes, it is quite interesting. It is quite timely as well since I'm about to start my instrument training in earnest, this subject is something not covered in my Instrument Rating books, the FAA's Instrument Flying Handbook, or the FAA Weather book. As such, had this happened to me, I would have never known what was going on. It makes you wish that the FAA would do more to make these kinds of videos and subjects known to all pilots so they'd get the training and information they need. Thankfully AOPA does a good job of helping in that area, which is why I'm continually thankful to have spent the $35/year to be a member and get AOPA Pilot.

on thread,
I heard the plane landed on the house in a,, or more of a, level attitue then a nose down attitude
and the direction of the nose was facing away from the airport.

Also heard the stories on the ground ..... mind numbing.

Joe

That would agree with the video -- T tailed aircraft once the tailplane stalls tend to fall flat - the prototype BAC 111 was a good example of that
I know the Q400 is equipped with a stick pusher - however with a tail full of ice and at such a low altitude it wouldnt make any difference
actually whats interesting is we have a video of what is like right here on the thread - look at the Tipsy Nipper video - the aircraft is falling basically
flat (albeit with a slight nose down attitdue) also rotation would be expected as well. I think again the media is making a bigger mystery of of it than
is warranted. And I dont hink I will post anymore on this - I am stooping to the level of the very people I am accusing by making suppositons as to the cause
of this tragic accident.
