Re: Windows 7 pre-order
Thats k... im getting hopefully three copies, one from Technet, one for Beta testing 7 and another hopefully free upgrade for the new Laptop!
Re: Windows 7 pre-order
There were reported methods of installing Vista upgrade even without a previous version :o
I kept the link just in case I ever succumbed to Vista but that didn't happen. Indeed the only PC with Vista installed was my wife's Dell laptop (as delivered) but that is now running Windows 7 RC.
So I guess I could upgrade Vista on that laptop. Let's see what price the upgrade is in the UK. Hopefully not the same price as a pre-ordered full copy.

Well...... I am impressed with this new OS Win7, :tab: yes sir'ee bob.
all the drivers for this laptop were installed, less the Synaptics touchpad software. , no biggie
the performance is better too, all around. and most everything was where it is in Vista , but there are a few changes
I'll be testing some of my favorite software to check for combatitably issUes
I see the command prompt in Programs Accessories, and a new one......... Windows PowerShell
 wonder what kind of havoc I can reck with that one ;-)
SO,..so far
Joe
PS
this is going to put a damper on my other project ..formatting partitions and imaging a clean and updated install of Vista..
......now for that FS9 disk set. :tonqe:
