I tend to agree it's a SP / Accel issue *-) I'm running Accel BTW.

I've got FSX with SP2.

The gauge is as532_hover.gau

Any idea where to acquire AS532_hover.gau ? After a little research I found that there is supposed to be a "hover gauge" by Arne Bartels" in the Wessexrn" download package. Unfortunately there is no directions for use in the package. Work for any of you guys? If so, how?

Here's a copy of it.. uploaded without the authors permission so I hope he doesn't mind. No sign of it at Allnodes..

HoverGauge

I can't find any doc's as to how it works I'm afraid.

Just pop it in FSX Gauges. That's where mine is.

I also have AS532AFCP.gau in the Panel folder. This came with the Wessex download.

From what other people have said on the Visual Flight forums, it doesn't work with Acceleration. Something to do with Keystroke changes?

Hi Dennis..

Yeh, we kinda worked that out for ourselves yesterday (I take it you're still talking about the rotor/tailfold and not autohover) :) It's not actually the keystroke as both wingfold and tailhook are available in FSX SP2/Accel but something rather more fundamental. Never mind.. none of us will die as a consequence ;)

Here is how to get it to work: Put the as532_hover gauge in your gauges folder. Shift +9 (or in the VC), throw the switch. Altitude is default set for 100 feet. Depress the square that is on the right side of the altitude reading. The guarded cover will open. Do not (yet) depress the exposed square button. Go fly over water, stabilize the Wessex a little over 100 feet and not much forward motion. Depress the square button - and get hands off the controls. Wessex will come to 100 feet and 0 knots forward motion. Adjust the altitude selector for whatever altitude you want. Starting under 100 feet altitude you should see the circular spray pattern in the water. Using the paragraph in the Wessex panel.cfg, along with a new window title line and forward views entry will allow you to export this effect to any other helo (don't forget to also move the "FCC.bmp" to your new aircraft's panel folder). Happy hovering (grin).
