Perhaps taking this a bit OT, but saves a separate thread...

Can anyone else not get on Horizon's website or forums at the moment? :dunno:

Hoping it's not something permanent... :((

I read somewhere ( perhaps here on this forum ) that they were having technical problems and would be back up and running ASAP. Nothing permanent to worry about. :)

Hi Paul,

There are a couple of things to be aware of if you are considering adding GenerationX PhotoScenery (which is a must have).

Make sure that you purchase Versin 2 DVD's. These contaian all the water mesks, night lighting, and modified terrain mesh. There are some people still trying to sell the earlier V1 product which you should avoid.

Default FSX airfields will still display with GenX but will not be correctly aligned with the photoscenery as microsofts world is different. For berst results you should consider purchasing VFR Airfields for FSX from UK2000. These are all compatible with the photoscenery and include blended flattens which remove the unsightly cliffs (probably your concern at North Weald.
I would personally avoid Aerosoft products, the UK2000 ones are far better and value for money. :welldone:

Roddymod, you must be psychic... you've answered a number of questions I had. Yes, I have Version 2 DVDs...yes, the North Weald plateau is a new one on me, particularly as I've often driven past on the M11, and I've been meaning to ask about duplication & displacement of Horizonsims runways and the default FSX ones...and you've given me the solution. Thanks very much indeed, I shall look at what UK2000 have.

Seriously...thanks !

No probs Paul.

I should also mentioned that UK 2000 have Demo and Free Airfields so it costs you nothing to check them out.

Rod.

Excellent! Thanks Rod, I'll put that top of the list. I recently bought VFR London too, with a view to developing the south of England with scenery add-ons. I'll have a look what they've got.

Cheers matey!
