Yes.. that's a fajookin' big bit of kit isn't it. It's only when you see them like that.. with some tangible reference.. that you can understand why modern jets need so few engines to lift so much stuff.

The statistic about the GE90 that I remember easiest is that it has the same diameter as a Boeing 737 fuselage. It doesn't
look like you could get six people and an aisle across it but this statistic was provided by the same intelligence team that reported Iraq's WOMD!

Hard to guage exact size just looking at it but I'm guessing it would be a tight fit in a Mini..
Amazing how we used to think the 747's engines were huge until the pics of the testbed with one of these new generations montorous contraptions.
Prices I saw a while back was quoting $14.8M for one RR Trent

..these must be similar
