It's also worth noting Alex/Graham that most of the guys now on P3D v2 dashed out and bought 4gb graphics cards to 'help it along'. There are a lot of comments of how well it runs against say FSX but this hasn't been FOC! ;)

Good point Dave. P3d does need a reasonably good graphics card if you want to make the most of it.
At the moment, I've got P2d running at a slightly lower frame rate than FSX(DX10 mode), however I've got a lot of the sliders full right and things like cloud shadows turned on so it looks much better than 'X. It's also much smoother too.
It's not perfect, & there are still bugs, but there a lot of bugs in FSX too

I finally managed to download P3D 2.3 after a mere 28 hours but , so far, it has been worth it.

The only problem I had was with FSUIPC and with the upgraded file installed everything is tickety-boo. Smoother FPS and improved graphics - it can only get better.

Cheers

Actually, Dave - the date on that download seems a bit old :dunno:

It says:
FSX
Prepar3D V 1.4, 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2.10438

NEW Full release of FSUIPC 4 (incorporating WideFS 7) for use with FSX and Prepar3D May 9th 2014 (3.3 MB)
Do you know where the latest is available from?

Well my show issues are still present even after another reinstall! Terrain shadows flickering too much and the cloud shadow issue is still there too! At least LM have admitted they have made some errors in the variables in the shadowing...
