You will have to ask the Scots why they spell Keith that way......its a town in northern Scotland. If it was spelt the other way its pronunciation would be 'kyth'.
Now how many other English words can you find spelt e before i....there are loads...

'I' before 'E' except after 'C', and some exceptions was the rule I was taught. Whilst being force fed Haliborange orange flavoured cod-liver oil........ :-#

I was also taught I before E except after C...but it's not a very good rule, freight for example :dunno:
