Re NCIS.. I can't see the need to have DVD sets Peter. It's already shown on Ch5, 5 USA and CBS Action daily.. sometimes 3 episodes in a row on a single channel :-O I gather from a colleague at work who has Sky that series 12 is showing. That puts us without Sky a whole series (11) plus the series 12 episodes behind!! :wall: Series 10 hasn't been rerun on telestrial yet so we have that to look forward too

Dave, NCIS is a continuing story and the only way to watch it is in order...Also each episode is an hour with the adverts but only 45 minutes without them...And I hate adverts!

Still one of my favourite episodes is the very first...on AIR FORCE ONE  I thought the actor who played George W Bush was brilliant. The episode was called "Yankee White", refering to the special clearance required by military personnel, in order for them to carry the Presidents "Football".

I've just finished viewing Season 11 and don't quite know what to think about it. I'm devastated by the departure of Ziva, but perhaps I will like S 11 better after a second viewing :agree:

Yankee White was on 2 days ago.. AGAIN

Fortunately.. you're not letting anything slip by mentioning Ziva's departure. The lad at work with Sky already dropped that bomb shell. As it happens.. I've just finished watching a Star Trek episode on CBS Action and NCIS is starting.. 'Seadog'. It was on yesterday too

I'm not sure about it being a continuing story. Having watched every episode up to and including series 9 many times (and I MEAN many times) there are only a couple of threads that I can recall being on going. The Port to Port killer went on for a bit as did the thread featuring 'la grenuoille'.. both of whom are done and dusted. Series 10 has only been aired once but with series 11 on the horizon (on terrestrial).. I'm sure we'll get double whacks of series10 very soon :) Oh.. the drug cartel honcho Gibbs did away with kept coming back too but I can't see that re-emerging again since the son was set up to blast the evil sister away.

Anyhoo.. long may it continue

Ah well you are obviously familiar with it all...I meant that the individual characters stories gradually progress...i.e. Gibbs' father, Dinozzo's father and Ziva's father and Abby's brother etc...All the characters gradually develop. And of course the story has to change when an actor actually dies in real life...like Ralph Waite and Abby's very small boy friend. All these things happening mean that seeing the episodes in the correct order does help you to understand the whole story better

Yes indeed, long may it last :agree:

Yes indeed Peter  When a new series starts.. it usually picks up where the old one left off so the storyline continues ;) The problem with it being repeated so often is that the repeats don't often follow the correct sequence. When there's a specific series run (for example.. the recent repeat of series 9 for the first time).. these run in sequence but at other showings, they don't. The 3 shows on a Monday are a prime example. You can watch one with Director Vance in charge then the next will have Jenny in charge. The one after that may have Kate in!! 8) Multiply this by the three terrestrial channels airing the show almost daily (Ch5, 5 USA and CBS Action) and any storyline is impossible to follow. I still watch them all anyway

EDIT: I've just had a look at this weeks progs and on Ch5 and 5USA alone.. NCIS is on 26 times. CBS Action isn't listed in the Mail's tv book so you can easily add a few more to the 26 on the other 2
