Your cats can be a great source of comfort, mine were when my wife passed away, they seem to sense our needs.

It is strange. We have three. The Cheltenham Snob who has become very clingy and like to look after me. The pretty girl who is a bit quiter than normal and finally the Sparkbrook yob who has decided his way of dealing with it is being extra specially yobby.

So very sorry to hear your bad n ews Simon.
Having lost my wife Joan coming up to 13 years ago, I know what you are going through.
It is easy to say, though not easy to do you MUST look after yourself.
