I like the 'Other' AP and usually switch to it once I reach cruise altitude. I think adding it to the other DM creations would be a good thing (I even had to add it myself to my copy of the comet).

At least the way it's done it's there if needed and for those that don't want to see it......well they don't have to

Hi David
If I follow the shut-down checklist, and finally switch off the battery I have several lights still turned on:
Engine Failure Lights (one each)
Gen. Bus Failure lights (one each)
The General Warning (which can be turned off if pushed....)
I would have thought that when turning off the battery (and presuming that there is no external power source) everything would turn off... including the variuos lights?

Hi Dan,
I know I'm not the David you are after but yes.. that assumption is correct

Perhaps FSUIPC is hanging on to the power for the default 5mins?? There used to be a section in the aircraft.cfg called [Electrical] towit a line something like Electrical_power_always_available=0 or 1 used to reside. Have a look in there and see if you can find it. I have and I can't
Oh.. and I use the 'other' AP too

I DO Dan.. I DO

The 'real' AP isn't compatible with my GoFlight control hardware matey and as the majority of our aircraft either have no AP or have a realistically fashioned example.. the 'other' AP on the VC10 means the quids worth of hardware I have doesn't go to total waste. Consider how many variations of aircraft I fly (all except the Herald) and how many you fly (the VC10).. I need a break every now and again!

That electrical thing maybe the same as that which affects all my panels; frequently turning off the master power leaves all the warning lights on, but things like the dolls eyes which are based on an ELECTRICAL BUS VOLTAGE code observe the power failure  . The HS748 even has a couple of bus bar isolate buttons, which actually toggle an electrical failure, and at times the warning lamps still stay on
cheers
