OK, All agreed it was a Halifax, with most recognising that the squarer tail fins and other details defined it as a series 1a. The Series 1a B MkII and Mk V
were externally the same, so I happily accepted either, though "II" was almost exclusively mentioned.
There were varying degrees of extras submitted, and the awards reflect that.
Simon (simondix) went as far as giving the Squadron code, pilot name, and a very near miss on the airframe , which was HR 928, not HR 926, Simon.
He also reported that Squadron Leader Cranswick died whilst flying a Lancaster in 1944. Simon gets the Knows Art this week:

Eric (Tomliner) and Joe (blanston12) scored Gold

Whilst Pete (Motormouse) was let down by his mobile screen, and had a second go after seeing the bigger picture, so that's Silver.

Congratulations for your answers, and thanks for being a Spotter ;)

Most agreed that this was a Wellington.
Some were keener of eye, and said it was a Mk IC.
Then two went further; one tracing the information on the www and submitting what he found; the second went further still, discovering that the www and the book gave incorrect information. Not only that, but the site which showed the real identity, quoted the wrong codes in their caption
To the awards:
Simon (simondix) and Leonel (GupyZer0) get a Silver badge for "Wellington"
Image
Mick ((woody901)and Ben (TSR2) receive Gold for "Wellington IC"

PeteP and Pete (Motormouse) win a Diamond badge for "Wellington IC (PLUS background story)"

Pete (Motormouse) gets the Boffin Award ......

........for uncovering the erroneous identity of the airframe.
www and the book say that it was KXoD, of 311 Czech Squadron, whereas the true identity is shown in the following double photo, clearly showing DXoW 8) 8)

PeteP was the only contributor this week, and he nailed it.
The subject was the Boeing/Stearman X100.
Well done, Pete, you get the Diamond badge and the Knows Art combo pack

This week, everybody got it exactly right, even those who thought they were guessing.
You all had the Piper Navajo Chieftain, PA 31-350, in the bag.
AllanL was very confident, and added a few salient points to gain the Knows Art:

You're still all on the ball :)
The Beechcraft Bonanza was spotted by all. The difference between the A36 and G36 was mainly internal, and relating to instruments.
Mick (woody901), PeteP, Pete (Motormouse) and Ben (TSR2) EDIT.... and Simon (simondix) got it, with PeteP first to report discovering the actual registration and some service history, to pick up the Knows Art bonus.
Congratulations all.
