BUT it seems that they haven't been consistent, this is TC-SES, which was passed on to the Turkish Air Force, where it was painted with the logo as I included in the quiz, numbered 430. I found a photo on the net of TAF 431, showing the moon and stars reversed according to usual depiction, but quite clearly not a reversed picture, as the number and words are not mirrored.
I'll pop back with an edit and link "431".
OK, I think I see the story; the fin flash on British aircraft is reversed on the opposite side, so the same colour (red) is always at the front of the fin.

It is evident from your links that THY used the National Flag at some time, instead of the bird icon. I was misled by an entry claiming to depict the history of THY, and in it, there's no instance of the Flag.
I think that under the circumstances, we'll have to drop the Turkish tail from the quiz.
I'm happy that we've learnt something today.
