Hi
Very remiss of me, I didn't sign in, I'm 79, Ex RA (Ack Ack) ex RAF (617Sqdn) and as I was a Naval Messenger in the later stage of the war, I have done all three services! I seem to be having a problem finding FS2004, any suggestions.

HI Ken
You should be able to pick up FS 9 on Ebay

Thought it was about time I had a go at flying with a purpose. I'll have a go with the 748 as I seem to be able to get that around Europe with very little trouble. I also fancy a go with my CLS DC10 at some time.

Hi Gary and welcome to the VA
Any questions at all.. fire 'em off down in the crew room and one of the pilots will get back asap ;-)
You watch that CLS DC10 mate. It drinks fuel like there's no tomorrow! :o

Hmmm... Fair enough. Just flying it in standard mode of course, I can brim fill all the tanks for nowt. Never had to consider fuel costs before now. I'll be happy with flying the 748 around for a while before trying anything beefier. I'm using FSX exclusively so I'm restricted to an extent.
Oh ahh... The Rapide! I'd forgotten about that little gem. Seems I'm to be a short-haul pilot for a while.

Yes mate.. making money helps. I brought one of the VA DC10-30's back to the UK using the CLS model and on a couple of legs.. the ticket cost was lost on fuel before I'd even taken off. However.. the 10-30's saving grace is that it has a rather cavernous cargo capacity so I made a few quid on that ;-) Both Ben and DanKH are pretty much exclusively FSX too mate and they fly a pile of different aircraft (well.. Ben does.. Dan only flies the VC10) so it can be done ;-) You have fun flying whatever you choose to fly.. that's the important thing
