Ive stayed out of this but I think some people John and Henry specifically) need to go back and look through the
archives here - this gentlemen showed up about the time the Dove was in final beta and did ask - demanded
certain things be done - it was explained to him then politely and he to all intents and purposes would have to wait -
shortly after the Doves release before Derek had released a paint kit Mr Marrero had puiblished two seperate Prinair
versions of Dereks Dove. Henruy - Im neither trying to humilate you or cast aspirations - however, having lived in the US for sometime and had dealings with several Puerto Rican operators over the years I can assure you that 95% of the inabitants
of the Commenwealth of Puerto Rico speak excellent English - so using that as an excuse for what is basically Piracy
doesn't wash. Mr Marrero has his own agenda and view of the Hobby - I believe people like Derek, Garry and DaveB and Sav
(who did the work on the panel that Mr Marrero has mutilated) have a right to complain. Having seen the amount of work
that goes on behind the scenes with the freeware models available here I can fully understand they feel slighted.
I also believe had Mr Marrero been an honest broker and come to the builders in the forum here and made a request to use
bits and bobs he may have been treated differently.

I have followed this thread all the way through and I'm pretty middle of the road on this but I do sense a very strong hate regime here which makes me feel very uncomfortable. I couldn't treat any human being like that. I nearly lost my job once through completely faked accusations of racial and sexual discrimination (to cover the person's own work shortcomings) yet I bumped into the very same person concerned the other day and exchanged pleasantries. Maybe I'm too soft but I believe in peace, love and understanding and therefore feel far more would be gained by working with this chap rather than against him.

With the hate hat on, this chap (who is indisputably out of line on several factors) is torn to shreds on the most trivial of issues and I feel some of the accusations are a little two-faced. As an example he has been accused of adapting somebody else's FDEs but I can think of a Virtual Airline closer to home that has done just the same but that's OK of course. Have either had permission to do so? I don't know and I don't suppose the critics do either.

It is so easy to say strong things in this kind of environment from behind the iron wall protection of a computer screen. But I have demonstrated that some of the accusations made have been unfounded or at the very least unsupported, but I don't see anybody on that side of the discussion being told to ease off or have the thread locked. But those who show the merest glimmer of consideration towards this chap are lambasted into fear of speaking. I think that is a little sad and a tad undemocratic.

For myself, I wouldn't upload a single thing to the internet if I was neurotic about it being copied and in most cases I would never decline a request to do so because I feel it is the least I can do for all the help I've had from others - indeed I find it flattering that my amateurish work is considered good enough! My only dispute with this chap is that he has used a gauge in his panel that I made which contains (with permission) some items from other authors. That's why I wrote in the readme.txt that this specific gauge should not be used or distributed but that I was about to make an alternative available specifically for free distribution. For myself I don't really care what he does with this gauge but I do feel duty bound to make a certain effort to respect the work of others that I was so kindly allowed to use. However, if he was the hardened cyber criminal and hacker as seen through some eyes on here, it would have been the easiest thing in the world to rename the gauge and if he had done this I doubt I would have even noticed it was mine.

With best wishes to all,

John
