UKMil no more?

I tried to send an e-mail via the "contact us" panel, but both Chris and Gaffer came back as "incorrect e-mail address"

I don't intend to demand my subs back. I just wanted to say how sorry I was that they closed, and thanks for past downloads.

I guess I'll just draw a curtain round it, and get on with other more important things.

But im firmly sitting on the fence on this topic, im both sad and glad...

It was not unknown for certain UKMIL staff to criticise others work in the past, so part of me is happy to see the boot on the other foot ( not that I think inane criticism is appropriate at all ), conversely I'm sad for those that will loose from all this and those that UKMIL did make very happy over the years, they're innocent parties and I think they have been treated roughly.

Sadly criticism comes with the game, you know that when you sign on at the door, generally most developing groups shy away from comment about others wares, free or pay, its just not good cricket old chap, sadly for what ever reason some at UKMIL didnt subscribe to that ethos, so in part I feel they are to blame for some of the end result themselves and should not try to divert that onto others.

Those that were receptive over there were very receptive, the help I offered on the Chinook was taken very well and the revised model looked very nice indeed, so not all of UKMIL were difficult.

A great shame at one point I was the events organiser over there until real life got in the way and i found it hard to find the time to get things organised. They were a great bunch and produced some good stuff.

It's sad the forum has closed i just recently started poking my nose back in there this has really surprised me I knew they had got annoyed with criticism in the past but I thought it could be ignored but I suppose it got them in the end. I feel sorry for the great little community that was there sharing thoughts and ideas, if any of the guys set up another forum please let me know I would like to keep in touch.

Lastly it's good that the site is still available for us who paid our 'lifetime' membership I think that is the right thing to do as many of us did not complain.

If anyone from the ukmil staff reads this THANK YOU!!! for all you gave your time and your freeware I have enjoyed it immensely

I was really sorry to see ukmil closing its door, I hope that if Dave or any of the ukmil staff read this may I thank you all for the free textures, aircraft, and scenery that you made available to me and others, I hope that one day we might see ukmil reborn, once again thank you all at UKMIL.

Just read half the first page on UKAR, got bored pretty quickly, I see the old playground politics still exist and are now ruining the tone of another forum. All i'm seeing is a hell of alot of people who are getting swallowed up in their own self importance.

You are correct Scorpius, but when the people airing their views are 95% Ex-UKMIL staff, and all throwing toys at each other from strategically placed prams, i'm kind of thinking, these people don't need UKMIL to have an argument, 'cos they're gonna have one anyway :roll:
