Interestingly she's now floating in one of the basins in Devonport along with most of the SSNs we've decommissioned. Not sure if anyone can actually visit her but it does say HMS COURAGEOUS in big letters right by her, might wander by next week and see what the deal is.
I'd love to know, I haven't been down that way in ages
Kind regards

Two more, HMS Zenith (Z- Class destroyer built by Denny & Bros, Dumbarton in 1944). Transferred to the Egyptian Navy in 1955 and renamed El Fateh it's currently still moored at Alexandria I believe.

And HMS Whimbrel the last surviving Royal Navy warship present at the Japanese Surrender in World War II. She was a sloop of the Black Swan class, laid down on 31 October 1941. Also sold to Egypt in 1949 and renamed "El Malek Farouq" then "Tariq". Plans were to purchase and return the ship to Liverpool but those plans have fallen through after the greedy Egyptians put the price up -

At least its engines survive, but will roar no more - allegedly.

Oh, I don't know. At least it's reasonably close to the old hunting grounds......

... have a look for Holbrook in Google Maps. I'm sure Otway spent a lot of time in those parts when she was a working ship.
