Hi.
Update on progress .
The type1 visual gauge known as the two drunken men.
The bmps have been reworked , and i decided to move the needles out by 10 points on each needle , this changed the gauge more than i thought it would , the needles work like a video i saw with regards to navigating to a beacon more accuratly , but do not behave correctly when you pass the beacon , but power off still parks needles correctly .
The change to the needles ment the arc of movement changed , which sofar as screwed up my amplitude and balance adjustments , and i need to improve the needle speed , so one step forward 10 back , so need to figure out why the amp/bal adjustment moves the needlles 180 deg out of wack when i used the same formula as before , when it worked , so back to head scraching on this one .
Also reworked both the bmp`s and basic xml animations on the loop antenna gauge, that also has to work wiith the type 1 visual gauge , dont know how i intend to do that yet , the antenna selector switch when i start that will just introduce failures on different parts of the R1155/visual gauge so still plugging away trying to get this beast tamed.

Hi.
Yesterday i had a breakthrough with the type 1 visual gauge , managed to get my amplitude and balance adjustments back , this morning i reworked the movement on these as i had to much adjustment , still cannot at this stage get it to the lower stops when beacon is behind you in ADF MODE , still lots to do but slowly progressing , i dont think i realised just what i was letting myself in for , when i started this project , i could do with knowing how to post pictures of progress in the forum to let you see what its looking like at this time .

Hi.
Update on progress , i have been trying to get the Antenna switch and Frequency selector switch communicating with each other , so if you have say comms selected on frequency switch , but have say DF selected on Antenna switch , all you get is zero`s displayed in frequency read out window , but if you have Antenna Normal or in flight trail selected then you can tune the comm`s , its taken about 3 weeks to get everything working between these two switches , i was getting all sorts of strange results and a lot of head scratching , only thing on this not yet done is some failure on Antenna trail if on ground , hopfully this will or should be simple 8) he says .
I am still in process of trying to get the frequencies to fail in tuning if using a radio panel like my saitek or click spots while still getting the mechanical tunning knobs and needle moving over the tunning dail face , still lots to do .
Also still not managed to get type 1 visual gauge ( two drunken men ) to go to fail position when you pass the NDB , but it does go to fail position if BATT or Avioncs turned off .
i do get sounds at moment if i use Flight Replicas B24 , but not got the Pete and John Dowson sounds installed yet .
LOOP Antenna gauge only has basic animation not yet done any real programming on this at this time , as i am still trying to figure out how to get this to work with type 1 visual gauge and R1155 .
The R1155 still has 3 switchs that are dummys at this time again dont know how i am going to simulate these functions if at all possible.

Hi.
I have been trying to get this xml code to work with an on/off code that does work , but this following instruction does not work
if{ (A:PLANE ALT ABOVE GROUND,feet) 1000 < } to go with my on/off code to switch an item on or off above a certain ALT , i am obviously doing something wrong as the on/off without this does work.
this is to do with trailing Antenna which in real life is 150ft long and can only be used when airbourne with long range COMMS

Hi
This Friday i was hoping to get some programming done on this project , unfortunately i had some health concerns on phone doctors he advised me to get to A&E has quickly as possible ,but don`t drive has it might be a stroke ,while waiting on a taxi , quicker than waiting for ambulance , he phoned to say it could also be an infection but needs seeing to either way.
I spent Friday morning in Macclesfield A&E having an ECG/blood pressure test and blood sample taken , then told i was being transferred to Stepping hill Hospital for a brain scan and further tests , there they did another ECG/blood pressure test and yet another blood sample taken , results indicated it was not a stroke but an infection known as Ball`s Palsy , so sent me to hospital pharmacy for two types of pills and eyedrops , 10 days of pills then on way back home in a taxi i got a call from doctor at Stepping Hill Hospital , saying he had some doubts on the brain scan that needed an MRI scan to get a better idea of what he saw on brain scanner image , so spent Saturday morning in A&E Stepping Hill Hospital having an MRI scan , which thankfully confirmed it was not a stroke , have to go back to Stepping Hill Hospital on 15 august to Ear/Nose/Throat department , but if i have any concerns between now and then i have been told to go straight to A&E , so programming is going to be interrupted due to this issue , and i have been told it could take up to 3 months for infection to clear up , also having a few problems on programming trying to get certain parts functioning , like trying to get the loop antenna working with the type 1 visual gauge , and altitude control for trailing antenna on the antenna switch , and some switches on the 1155 receiver are basic animations but don`t do any function yet don`t even know if i can achieve these functions as no FSX/P3D functions cover what they do in real life that`s going to be fun trying to sort that out , but still plugging away .

My 'stroke' last year also turned out to be Bells Palsy which was a relief. However, the left side of my face dropped and I couldn't close my left eye and drinking was difficult. Turned out I was a gargoyle - at least that's what my granddaughter said - cheeky madam. I followed the treatment to the letter - the only part where I deviated was to use an eye pad (NOT the computer type!) to protect the open eye at night. Fortunately my wife had kept hers from when she had her cataract's done so it was a clear pad.

I was told that 70% recovered within 11 weeks, the rest withing a year although in severe cases the damage to the facial nerves is non-recoverable.

Anyway, take the meds, patience is the key. Get well soon.

Well Guys , in case you thought i had gone to sleep on this project , no i haven`t but was having issues trying to get the Antenna SW and R1155 Freq selector working together , so if you have a mismatch of antenna to frequency , you can move tuning knobs with click spots and needle moves , but you will not be able to tune frequencies , so to get COMM`s , You need normal or trail with trail extended to 150ft and frequency Selector set to COMM`s before you can tune to the Frequency required , getting this lot to work has taken 2 months of head scratching , with the xml coding .
I am now in the process of getting rid of the unwanted test lines that have been commented out and not needed anymore and renumbering section code lines that aide me in fault finding , before i move onto the next problem , project still far from finished item , but i am one step further on than i was.

Hi.
I have been trying to get the Visual ADF gauge to go to a park position after passing a tuned beacon , so far no luck on that one , but i have now improved the two different needle speeds the speed switch is on the R1155 which has now got a simpler code and two sections in visual gauge with different delays controlled by a Visibility line.
Also on the visual gauge i have made the needles park if you have no power/incorrect switch selection or loss of signal.
still working on getting it to park if beacon passed , that`s bugged me for ages now.

Sounds like your making progress there Alan. It's amazing how a bit of time at Christmas / New Year makes things more productive... or maybe it's the mulled wine :worried:

Hi.
On 16 Jan 26 i Managed late in the day to get the Visual Gauge to go to park position after passing the beacon , but both Needles moved from navigating to park instantly , which was not what i wanted ,so i ended up over yesterday and this morning experimenting on which ever needle hits park mode first the other reverses direction to park ,but animation is not smooth so i have been trying different delay methods to try and get an even smooth movement , so far not found the ideal delay , but at long last made some progress over the weekend .
