I've just downloaded the F86 and had a quick couple of ccts at Cranwell. Nice use of photoreal textures and not too bad on frames either. Easy enough to fly and the smoke fx look pretty much bang on. Would have loved to have seen some vortices fx and can't understand why there aren't any  Tailhook to remove the wing tanks works well enough though I keep seeing a tailhook message coming and going when the tanks are not there :k: No such problem with the tanks in situ. Have quickly skipped through the two readme.first files but not read other manual (or found/looked for one).
VC is a bit oppressive.. 2D not bad.
Probably a keeper but I'd like to see wingtip vortices. Any ideas??

Hi,
There is an F86 soundpack, by Aaron Swindle over at Flightsim.com
Filename f86snz.zip
It's for Fs2002, but works in 2004
Cheers
Stewart

It's pretty nice, probably not as good as all the hype, but a keeper never the less.
Wingtip vorticies are easy to add, I'll have a look at adding the Hunter FX to it this evening.

the reason it's going mad for downloads is the review was out on day one.
the model is very good though just lacking some effects

Here you go
http://www.rafweb.org/OCUs1.htm
(from here
http://www.rafweb.org/Menu.htm)
The markings you want are the one worn by the top a/c (these are Hunters) on this page, not to be confused with the 79 Sqn colours at bottom, as 79 were still operating Meteors, before being allocated Swifts!
http://www.rafweb.org/OCU229.htm
229 OCU was later given the 234 sqdn 'numberplate', and markings, and moved to Brawdy as TWU.

While youre at it, I found these colour plates too

112 Sqn

Agree that it doesn't quite match the 'hype' but it's not bad. Tks for looking at the wingtip vortices DG
Odd that it got reviewed on the day of release. Pity a certain 748 and Hunter didn't receive similar attention
