Hi Guys,

Well it goes against the grain to a certain extent but I feel I must take a temporary side in Bill Gates corner whilst I moan about another flight sim product - IL2. With WG you at least get a couple of years or so before the next 'breed' hits the shelves. With IL2/Maddox Games/Oleg whatsisface he milks the simmer dry with the new 'must have' improvement. IL2, IL2 Forgotten Battles, Aces Expansion, Pacific Fighters, BoB (release date imminent) not to mention all the various combined CD's as well as patch after patch to try and fix the probs. The other thing is that with the IL2 series there is no chance of anyone doing 'freeware' as there is no SDK. All the additions come through the 'official' patches and expansion packs Oh and BTW just in case there's any IL2 fans out there waiting for BoB - it was reported some time ago that the initial release will only have a 'handful' of flyable aircraft. The rest will be available at a later date through an expansion pack which you'll have to pay for..

I gave up on the IL2 series as it was denting my bank balance too much. Kudos to M$ for allowing the likes of DM and RP et al to be allowed to make thier creations due to the publication of the SDK's.

At least with FSX I can pretty much rely on getting a couple of years fruitful use from the sim and I'm sure even if it's small steps, the sim will be some way further forward than the existing FS9. I ain't going to slate it until I've seen some 'proper' reviews from 'proper' simmers who don't have anything to gain by lavishing praise on a beta product. I'm going to wait for the sim to go DX10/Vista and see what the reviews are like and what hardware is needed. Any hardware upgrades are on hold until then probably so I know what's needed.

Rgds

John

Bonjour,

I was reading the review and I'm remembered the Manson song:

"This is a new sh*t ! Do you like it ? Yeeaah ! Do you want it ? Yeaah ! ..."

Perhaps FS X will be better than FS9, but reading the review, like FS9 and FS2002, most of the upgrades are made on graphics, weather, and ATC.

If we buy it ? Yeaah ! Most of us had sent their copy of FS2002 in the dust bin when FS9 will appear on the market. :prayer:
Some, like me, uses time to time FS2002 with FS9 too when they had bought a FS2002 payware... But not for long time. And the payware was finally sent too to the dust bin...
Law 1 of the market: Need to have the best thing, jealousy, need to exist,...

If we need to change mother board, graphic cards, hard disk and upgrade the RAM ? Yeaaah ! Remember what you do with your PC when you bought FS9...

Is FSX, bugged ? If not, this will the first time that a microsoft product don't ask you with the well known screen "zolox.dll has encountered a fatal error in... write to uncle Bill".
But mainly Microsoft regards the consumer as a stupid donkey. Law2 of the market, amended by Bill...
Seriously, if you work in a commercial company like Bill, with the same respect of the consumer, you are going to a severe bankruptcy.
When you buy a rotten washing machine, what do you do ? Most of us go back to the retailer and the probability that his head was forced with your hands on his neck to explore the machine interior would be high ! :axe: :gun:

If we need to upgrade XP to Vista ? Probably, a good strategy for microsoft will be to propose some additionnal functionnalities with the FSX Vista version (with graphics or sound by exemple). If not, some payware and freeware force us to upgrade: With FS9, some addons are using XP and not Win98 or WinME.

The Allnodesarebusy rewiever are flunkeys:

Aooh, yes, there is more detailed airports in FSX. But most of us use freeware scenery to enhance their FS9 airports.

Aooooooh, yes FSX will introduce an A321 (version A ???), wonderful, marvellous. And a grumman Goose: Absolutely fabulous !!! :-({|= Give me more !
I thought that some corrects addons of this two aircrafts already exists, but maybe I had dreamed ?

If their new aircrafts are like the defaults planes we knows, what a wonderful progress: A round for the ANAB rewievers :drinkers: :drinkers: :drinkers: Yo !

 Oh I had forgotten, we could see rivets and chrome effetcs on the default planes ! Hey ANAB rewievers a second round: :drinkers::drinkers::drinkers: :partyman:

And in twelve years when FSXVI (or FS 16.0000, it's more modern than roman number) wil be on the market with the new Windows CheetahZX250, a main upgrade in the game will be the kind virtual Hawaiian stewardess: Captain, I'm here for you entire pleasure.:kissu:
And probably a big future of the game would be that:

"No, no Juliett Whiskey Oscar, on reprend à zéro et je tente d'atterrir sur la RWY27R, je suis locked sur le glide, clear to land: Gogo gadgeto ILS !

OK, I'll bite. What is a 'sex poddle'? Does it involve a nurse's uniform, welly boots or warm custard?

I'm British and I'm fairly certain its not in mine either

However, a quick bit of googling yielded this:
A slang term derived from pot hole. It is used to describe a person who never pays attention in bed. This "person" will most likely consider sandwiches to be orgasmic. If you're looking for a way to simulate a poddle, try a whale.
Are we any the wiser? :dunno:

There are very few people who actually know what FSX will deliver, so until we have it on our HDD's, it's impossible to do anything but speculate.

I suppose the problem is that many of the changes most people want to see would not be visible in screenshots, and MS aren't releasing details of what they've changed, so rumour and speculation will fill the knowledge gap.

There ARE some interesting features that have shown up in the screenshots - for example the glider's wings are quite clearly flexible, and it doesn't look like they have been done using a segmented wing.

For the record, I don't know what a sex poddle is either!
