Time to put my feet up for a few weeks and just enjoy flying in FS9 and FSX and knocking around the Forums.

Working on an Update for such an iconic plane has been an absolute pleasure and an honour.
When the new :prayer: David Hanvey Sea Fury for FSX and FS9 is released there is no doubt it will be a superb in every way - I just hope he releases a paint kit!

V2.3 of this Update Series is planned. But there's absolutely no rush. I suppose late Easter.

It will focus on:

1/ Better Nav system and radio, more appropriate for early 1950's operation.

2/ Ground handling improvements.

3/ Improved landing behaviour

4/ At least 5 more repaints.

5/ Carrier group in Asia: Ocean, Glory and Sydney

6/ HMS Triumph in the Med

7/ RNVR Summer Training in the Med Flight Plans

8/ Carrier AI

9/ AI Sea Fury

10/ Full Paintkit created by Steven Beeny

Watch this space Late March :tunes:

Here's the new Nav / Radio system borrowed from the Freeware Alpha Firebrand, thanks to a suggestion by Hobby. I also added its Engine Control Unit and the Autopilot.

This one's for the Sea Fury Trainer (no arrester hook) which can now be used fully with FSFlyingSchool. :flying:

Just needs a bit of tidying and some work on the AI - I'll probably release the same time as the Sea Fury Update V2.5 (about Easter) :)

Hello team,

First, I'm so stoked that the Sea Fury has gotten yet another facelift. This plane embodies the epitome of piston-engined fighter design - and that it served a full decade into the period during which jet fighters were introduced, shows it's amazing ability. Yeah, plus I love any RCN classic plane out there! But the extra carrier options is what truly excites me.

So, since I can't install this for a few days until I return home, can someone illuminate me on what locations are these carrier(s) situated? I see references to Suez and "Asia" - Malay? I also saw a post concerning a location off of Nova Scotia.

Many thanks!

dl

UPDATE:

I arrived home tonight and installed it .... plane looks amazing, esp the new panel.

Forgive my level of "newbicity", but I'm baffled at the scenery intall for the carriers. I previously had the Arromanches, off the coast of Corsica. I'm used to adding scenery under "Addon Scenery/XYZ package - wherein there is a scenery and texture folder. The way I read the readme, however I don't see how the Ocean and Glory packages fit within the normal addon scenery system.

If someone can explain this in a bit more detail, I'd be much obliged.

Regards,

dl

OK - White Knight just sorted me out - I thought the new locations were included in v2.0 - it looks like that's coming in a future version (2.5). 'Told you the colonial Canucks are smart like hammers. :)

In any event, the "Anglicised" R95 looks superb, and it's not as if tootling around Corsica for a few weeks is such a hardship ... :)

Many thanks to the devs for a super mod, and for some greatly anticipated stuff (RNAS, AI Wyverns and Sea Furies, can it be??)

And then there were two ;-) :

The Colossus Class Carrier decompiled okay so (theoretically) is free to move anywhere on God's earth, once I've studied the SDK carefully. It will also be possible to deploy in more realistic Carrier Groups, 2 or 3 at a time. Each with their own afcad and tower frequencies. :dancer: :dancer:

So as well as Korea, a Suez carrier group is a distinct possibility.

I've got Attackers for 1831 RNVR, 718 RN and 763 RN. It's the Ralph Pegram FS2002 one painted up.

Half my Sea Hawks, haven't shown up yet. Lol.

There's a Sea Hawk Receipt and Despatch Unit so expect to see a lot of unmarked ones when I return to finish the AI off. Also 898 RN were there for 6 months in '55.

I want to work on the Sea Fury again, hopefully over the weekend, time permitting. :flying:
