Hi Guy's..
I've spent a frustrating half hour trying to get the Iris Phantom to engage the shuttle for a cat launch only to check the aircraft.cfg and find there's no [launch assistance] section

Can anyone give me a hand here
EDIT.. I've tried the one given for the Sea Vixen and it appears to work

Hi Matey
I usually stick a temporary extra nav lamp into the [Lights] section of the ac.cfg to get the launch assist where i want it.
But as you say another can do the job.
Regards
Rick

Yeh.. an extra light is a good idea as long as the launch assist section is there in the first place

Surprisingly, the entry knobbled off the Sea Vixen works just fine

Good tip for shuttle positioning though
BTW.. how do you guy's go about compiling boat traffic files given that boats don't have specific start/stop locations as aircraft do?? Is there a standalone FSX compiler/decompiler or would you suggest doing as (I've read) some do.. that is produce a traffic file in TTools then convert it to FSX format. This sounds untidy to me

That looks great mate. While I confess to looking forward to the refit/late version.. I'll be more than happy to exercise this old lady

Will you be including a traffic file for her too (for the dumbass sods like me who still can't make FSX traffic files)??
I was adventurous today and took an FG1 off Ark IV for another attack on the French Carrier Group.. but with real weather loaded

Oh what fun!! I'll post some shots later if I get round to it.

Dave,
There're a couple of AI routes included with the installer, one covering the Op Pedestal route and one from Scapa Flow to Iceland, areas this version was a frequent visitor to. For shipping routes I use the utility from here
http://lc0277.nerim.net/boat/, it lets you plot the routes in Google Earth and then compile them.

Not too worry Dave, In all honesty I think Skippy and I are itching to get on to Vic's 3 & 4, plus its going to be a good place for the S1 Buccaneer that is ticking along nicely!

Tks for that Skip and to you Sketch
The Op Pedestal route will do fine and knowing there will be Vic's 3 and 4 makes the day complete

More operations launched against the Orange aggressors today.. this time by the mighty Phantom..

I just love the look of the Phantom.. I have done ever since I first saw one. Can't say the same for the FSX clouds though!
Dropping low below radar also put visibility at zero!
Now, radar.. there's something I could have done with. Having exausted the NW track, I back-tracked into a break in the weather and there she was on the horizon..
Too late.. the targetting camera's have recorded everything
I can't praise the Clemenceau enough. Get lined up on the cat and the crew appear alongside including the bat man you see and about half a dozen others lined up on the RH side of the aircraft. BTW.. the FD clock tells the correct time too
Ark has moved East to a position East of the CI, the French coast to her right. There she is.. thank goodness I missed that awful weather
If the launch of Victorious is as expected, I'll be finding myself in the inhospitable waters of the North Atlantic very soon and in something a lot slower

Cracking shots Dave!
Is that Clemenceau for FSX??? I remember there was one for FS9, but don't think I have one for the Dark Side
