Is Bernard Lee the pilot of the Ashton in Cone if Silence?, If so I've seen it on TV in the last 10-15 years :think: Never seen the Jack Hawkins one though :sad:

I think the pilot was Michael Craig but Bernard Lee was in the cast as a Commander:) sure!

It' s a shame that such old films are seldom transmitted also in UK. :sad:

Just Googled Cone of Silence Kikko and Michael Craig was in it along with Bernard Lee, Peter Cushing and just about everyone else except Jack Hawkins :shock: Put it down to your age

Jack Hawkins was in "the Man in the Sky" , as I stated:)

Hawkins did at least 4 movies in which he pilots a plane: the "Malta Story "and "Angel One Five " :think: Others? 1940 "the flying Squad" but I never have seen it :shock:

Great to see this flying Garry.

I'm glad I didn't take it on now

I've got the Thames van and Italian Job Mini Cooper meshes from the Carvair if you want them I think they weigh in at around 200 poly's each so they are kind on the frame rates.

I've got a couple in the pipeline at the mo' but I'm reworking the Carvair after that complete with DVC and an FSX version this time round so Lydd looks like being a busier place in the virtual sky before long.

One thing I am short of is reference for the first and third Silver City livery as well as the first BUA

I only have one pic of the two Silver City's and a couple of the BUA

No pr obs with the other liveries.

The first SCA seems only to have been worn by G-AMWA and it appears to have been repainted before delivery.

The third was worn by at least G-AMWD and could be an interim

The first BUA I only know of on G-AMWA and G-ANWK :think:

Perhaps if you or anyone gets to the Silver City Museum in Southampton some light may be thrown on to it.

Are these of any use?

You can have the bigger ones if you want.

And once I put the scanner away, I found G-ANVR in Channel Air Bridge scheme. I'll do that as well.

For the short nose versions, there are lots more photos in my source. I'll work through those and advise you when they are ready - all monochrome of course!

That top one is the first, rare Silver City I mentioned and that pic is very useful.

I have enough pics of all the other Superfreighter liveries except this one here and the third Silver City and first BUA. I have a lot of CAB pics.

The bottom one here is a little odd as well as it does not have the name or letter beneath the cockpit.

The third Silver City is possibly an interim hybrid.

Basically it it the familiar stripe as in the bottom pic but has a white roof and the two band fin with Civil Air Ensign of the last livery.

The first BUA differs in detail to the familiar dark blue livery but the main difference is the cheatline is the same with the yellow outline but instead of the upper cheat without a yellow border and a black ant-dazzle it has a dark blue anti dazzle with the yellow outline and no upper cheatline.

Only WA and WK are know by me to have worn this.
