Yep Nigel, I'm not an Athletics fan, and wasn't fussed about the Olympics, but its great to see team GB doing well and theres a real buzz, even with folk like me who aren't normally that into this type of thing. I think we're doing the Olympics very well and I'm very proud of it.
Ben.

I'm well and truly into the Olympics, now. As Ben says, it's amazing that most of the Country have embraced it (with a few notable exceptions
). At the trains, on the stations, in the mess rooms and the pubs everybody is talking about it with passion and excitement. Britain is doing such a good job of it in such a fun way that I wish I'd jumped on board earlier rather than when I saw how good it was
For me it's the technology that's made this games so riveting. Actually for the last two I was busy working and couldn't keep up but I've got a bit more time for this one. More people have widescreen HD TVs now and that, coupled with the red button multi-channel choice and the absolutely stunning slo-mo close-ups make it the best spectacle ever!
I have my iPad next to me with The Times app open giving me a constant interactive update to what's happening and what to watch next so I can plan my next trip to the fridge! And reading the personal background stories of the dedication, opportunities and setbacks that have brought the athletes to this one moment, this one opportunity to be the best makes it so human. The best drama production for years!
I keep seeing a sport I haven't seen before and want to do it and get a medal at Rio! So far, on my to do list, is rowing, archery and shooting...

Well a lot of people are enjoying the games and no one is forcing you to watch. Just pull the plug on your telly and/or wireless, your computer and don't read newspapers until the games are over and let it be!Garry Russell wrote:Never
