Apparently it's advised to do a complete uninstall-reinstall this time. Haven't done it myself yet, I'll do it over the weekend.
Thanks Dave.

Likewise.

Load times much much quicker now.

Flight planner is up the creek. Take ages to load up a flight plan and then is unable to give the routing/flight time and fuel required.

IMHO not a good patch. What next a patch to the patch? :poke:

Judging by the above posts and a couple of reviews on youtube, I think I should delay any plunge into this arena. :worried:
Some of the scenery looks magnificent, but the runways seemed to lack realism, and though the youtubers praised the clouds, I found them rather stiff.

Mike v5 is a leap forward. Apart from the relatively minor niggles I have encountered so far it I a giant jump in the atmospherics department. The clouds are no longer balls of cotton wool, there is a smoke/haze that replicates the real thing and I am very happy with it.

That said, I think this release has been rushed with corners cut probably so it will be established and in use long before FS2020. So, if you can hold off a couple of weeks and then buy the - hopefully - vice-free version then do so.

Meanwhile, I am going to push on and enjoy the good bits of v5.

G'day Allan,
I've had REX Soft Clouds for so long, I don't recall what the default FSX sky looked like, in fact, I forgot that it was still installed.

Anyone with VR care to comment on the visual improvements if any?
My main driver these days is VR.

In the youtube reviews, I think both I watched said that VR wasn't interfacing at this point.

Just spent a bit of time flying around Orbx TE GB in a helicopter in VR. I used stereo mode rather than single pass otherwise true sky is disabled, but even with the performance hit that had it was still a lot smoother than I had in 4.5, and looked so much better. :excited:

Cheers Dave.
What's Stereo Mode? Is that a new setting in PrePar3dV5?
BTW what headset are you using?
