Once the payload's checked you might also try to...

switch off Top Temp and / or
click the EPR gauges for the correct thrust index,
maybe something's wrong there...

Cheers,

Nick

Ant....Are your throttle giving full power....calibration I mean *-)

Garry
Well, with full power, aren't I overheating the engines? Going into the orange/red would cause damage?

I read that the top temp needs to be on.

I do click the index gauges.

Garry might be on to something with the throttles... what percent to you get with the throttles fully forward. *-)

97 odd on the centre gauges, but that puts the engine temp well into the orange/red.

First thing that comes to mind is, you're brave! I've just cleared that runway in the past with more powerful aircraft with max permitted N1.

Thats norm on take off, but not for climb / cruise.

Just occured to me.... Is this the T3? If so have you started / activated the boost engine?

No, T2.

What climb rate and airspeed do you get?

just did a very quick check as I'm going to have to go... Out of Sydenham (EGAC) in FSX. Default T2 config (so probably over weight, didn't check.)From the end of 04, breaks on, slats out and flaps out 2 clicks. 3 of trim. Fully forward on the throttles (101%)with top temp engaged, rotated about 135knts and cleared the end of the runway... not by much though. Default weather and daytime. Once the airspeed was up at 150 + throttle back to 97% :)
