Hello Everyone!

I have just joined the site. Never heard of it before Calypsos kindly drew my attention to it on another site - but that sort of thing happens to unobservant old boys.

This looks to be a GREAT site. After about 70 years of being connected with aviation in various forms, this is just the place where my past interests and experience lie.

I have been looking at the various sections of the site and find them quite fascinating. They really take me back to the old days. Marvellous!

Hi Garry,

Thank you for your reply. I can see that this site emphasises British aircraft, which is wonderful but am I right in thinking that it is orientated towards the 1950-1970's era? I hope so. Ah! those Farnborough days!

Hi Auster,

Sri for butting in (answering in Garry's place) but yes.. that sort of era is our main focus of interest though we do venture further back from that and, at times, very little forward

Hello Dave,

Thank you for the information.

Earlier than 1950 is even better. I remember my dad taking me to Hedon airfield (long gone), east of Hull (Aaaaagggghhh - John Prescott!), in the mid-thirties where I touched the tailplane of a black and orange biplane. I was 7 years old and became completely hooked for lifetime.
