They say a lot of it was off site and the damage is not as bad as it could have been but it looks pretty bad to me.

I just hope they find the money for repairs and any insurance covers it as money for restoration and upkeep has been very short.

Dreadful news.

Apperently though many of the major timbers were away at the time (masts etc) so we live in hope that this fine ship isn't lost forever

Kind regards

Nothing is beyond repair really....take the case of the Great Britain barged as a hulk from the Falklands to be restored in Bristol.

Just takes loads of money and many, many hours and above all skill and the will to see it through

Wise words Garry. The guy that runs the project was speaking on Radio 4 and he sounds hopeful

Kind regards

Don't be like that Jonesey :tuttut:

I'm sure they're all pillars of their communities, fine scholars with bright futures ahead of them. This was obviously a 'one off' mate. No doubt they were bullied into doing it by the big kids!!

ATB

If they are caught their "bright futures" might involve a ‘cat o’ nine tails’ or a visit to the yardarm.

If it was arson then they should pay.

In all cases of deliberate damage the culprit should pay even if that means a substantial part of their wage for the rest of their lives and never have enough left overe for fun.

As it stands now insurance coughs up and then we all end up paying for the rest of our lives with premiums being higher than they otherwise would be.

If not the insurance then Government foot the bill for street damage etc. and the rates and taxes go up.

Sometime a charity covers it..again that is money from us.

So about time the criminal paid because no matter how you look at it if they don't we do.
