I remember many, many years ago it being said they would probably die out as there were so few the chances of a male and female meeting and fancying a fin over were so remote as to put the species at risk

I've always wondered about whaling for 'scientific' reasons, what experiment are they conducting - to see how fast the human race can wipe out another species? :think:

I was going to launch into a diatribe about Japanese Whalers and Longliners - but its a waste of breath - NO ONE in the world not Greenpeace or anyone else is going to stop them until someone borrows an Attack submarine and does it the hard way - Andy your right - we (meaning human beings) seem hell bent on extinction of the next most intelligent mammal on earth - for no reason other than greed - it makes you want to weep

Yes, mice are in fact highly intelligent creatures from another galaxy who have been studying us since the birth of humanity.

Surely it would not take much for any creature to exceed the human race in intelligence :think:
